Information regarding Visas and Citizenship
The Australian Embassy in Italy, Rome does not process visa or citizenship applications. For clients resident in Italy or San Marino visa processing is undertaken electronically through the online ‘eVisa’ service, or by processing centres in Australia, or by the immigration office at the Australian Embassy in Berlin, Germany.
You should not book flights or make travel commitments until you have a visa to travel to Australia. The department will not be liable for any financial loss incurred by clients whose visa application was finalised later than expected or where an application is unsuccessful.

New Work and Holiday arrangement with San Marino commencing 1 January 2017
On 1 January 2017 the Work and Holiday arrangement with San Marino came into effect and young adults from these countries are now able to apply for a subclass 462 visa. More information about this visa, and how to apply can be found at: http://www.border.gov.au/Trav/Visa-1/462-

The immigration office in Berlin processes the following visas for clients resident in Denmark, Estonia, Finland, Germany, Iceland, Italy, Latvia, Liechtenstein, Lithuania, Malta, Netherlands, Norway, Poland, San Marino, Sweden, Switzerland and Vatican City.

The Rome office is not responsible for visa or citizenship applications from residents in Libya or Albania. If you are resident in Libya, please contact the Australian Embassy in Cairo, Egypt. If you are resident in Albania, please contact the Australian Embassy in Belgrade, Serbia.
